History
Established in 1986 by the Aparicio Family, The Plano Tortilla and Tamale Factory has grown to become a popular destination for a unique culinary and ethnic experience in authentic Mexican comfort food. The Plano Tortilla and Tamale Factory produces its own Flour Tortillas and various types of Tamales, while also specializing in favorites like Menudo and Guisado. The Plano Tortilla and Tamale Factory also offers a wide range of traditional Mexican favorites as well as some Tex-Mex dishes.
Inspired by Mexican Heritage
Our cooking comes from family traditions passed down over many years. Mexican food, to us, is about community and sharing meals together. We make our flour tortillas and tamales in-house because that is how our family always prepared them. Along with Mexican classics, we also serve Tex-Mex dishes that reflect the culture of Texas and the flavors people here enjoy every day.

Plano Tortilla & Tamale Factory is more than a restaurant to us. It is our family’s work and pride. Many restaurants buy ready-made items, but we prepare key parts of our menu ourselves. This keeps our food authentic and dependable. Our mission is to serve honest Mexican and Tex-Mex meals while welcoming every guest like part of our extended family.
